No more cables to run and no more head upside down in the back storage room trying to reach a cable that we can't feed any further. Well not for a while anyway...<br />We have had log books and contact cards made. I have compiled and printed all the research I have been doing over the past year... places to see, things to do, customs and quarantine restrictions, medical lists, maps, recipes, budget calculation, provisioning and the list goes on.<br />So now we are just waiting on the desalination unit to arrive, another jib to be made, an addition to the biminy to stop the rain blowing into the cockpit, lots of food/supplies shopping to be done but we are still on track for departure on Boxing Day.<br /><br />Thank you to everyone who came to our farewell party, it was great to catch up, say good bye and Merry Christmas.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4449886647020326172-549740891565980192?l=yachtjura-our-preparations.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>Peter and Kylie Vaiciurgisnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4449886647020326172.post-84093442282602379462007-12-10T19:46:00.000-08:002007-12-10T19:59:02.681-08:00There are now only two weeks until we leave, thats only 6 1/2 days of work (not that I'm counting). We are both a bit stressed out, there is alot still to be done. Peter has been working tirelessly on fitting all the additional things such as pressurized water, a hot water tank, wind generator and lots of other little things that I don't even know about yet. I've been organising lots of printing such as log books and radio log books, contact cards etc. + setting up this blog. <br /><br />We are living on the boat now and yes everything is going well. Truthfully it doesn't feel much different to living at home on land. Maybe once we stop working and spend more time on the boat it will actually feel like we are living on a boat! Jura is currently moored @ Cronulla.<br /><br />This weeks preparations:<br />We have both informed our bosses that we will be leaving at the end of the year. (Only 7 1/2 weeks of work until we become professional bums!)<br />We have made arrangements for a shed for all our house furniture to be stored.<br />We are arranging the purchase of a watermaker and hot water system so that living on the yacht will be a little more comfortable :-)<br />We are measuring to finish off the window trims, installing netting on the bunk beds, making sheets for the beds, planning the trip down to Tasmania including when and where we will stop, and soooo many other little things.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4449886647020326172-2896447759031808278?l=yachtjura-our-preparations.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>Peter and Kylie Vaiciurgisnoreply@blogger.com0
